Three States Supply Company, LLC

The company was founded in 1945 in Memphis, TN by George R. Mitchell and his son N. A. Mitchell. The initial product offering after the war was merchant steel products. The origin of the name came from the geographical location that Memphis has in the center of three states, Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi.

From humble beginnings, the company grew and prospered. In 1951 they decided to expand into new headquarters and the first branch location was opened in Little Rock, AR. The company continued under the ownership of the Mitchells until 1977 when a privately held New York holding company, UIS, bought Three States Supply Company, LLC. The new owners encouraged expansion and under the leadership of Charles M. Brejot, sales were increased 10 times in the next twenty years. Branch locations were added in five cities. Additional outside salespeople were added as well as a large number of new products primarily in the sheet metal and HVAC industries.

In 1996, the company was acquired by Watsco, Inc., the nations leading distributor of heating and air conditioning equipment and supplies. After the acquisition, the company expanded its product offering to include heating and air conditioning equipment and related parts. Three States is now a one stop HVAC supply house.

Three States Supply continues to grow and currently has eighteen locations in seven states (TN, MS, AR, AL, MO, KY, IL). By means of an extensive fleet of delivery vehicles, the company is able to supply its customers in all or part of ten states. The company is proud of its heritage and it looks forward to the future. The Bill Voorhees Company, Inc. is a wholesaler and retailer of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment. The company was founded in 1959 and is based in Nashville In April of 2010. The Bill Voorhees Company operates as a subsidiary of East Coast Metal Distributors LLC.
